|  | Victory Davao will be celebrating its 12th year anniversary this coming May 11, 2008! This is an invitation for who wants to grace our celebration. Church service starts 10AM and we will be honored to have Ptr Julius Fabregas to share with us God's Word. Please come on time, because you will missing the opening GRAND number.
The Talents NYT talents will present 2 dance numbers and the adult will also do a Latin praise song. We hope you can join us on this victorious event!
In connection with our celebration, Fashion authority from Manila, Karen Marie Espiritu, Product Development Specialist of Avery Dennison Corp of New Yoirk City and Brad Murdoch, A model and actor, will give a fashion workshop on May 10, 3-5 PM in our Center dubbed " FASHION EDGE." The same day at 10am to 12 noon, Mycs Villoso, a 3-years member of National Hip Hop team and coach of La Salle Dance Company Street and Alfred Lauzon, a choreographer and at the same time a dancer, will also give a workshop in Hip Hop dubbed "RHYTHMS AND MOVES"! DONT MISS THESE EVENTS!

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Davao Writers Guild, in cooperation with the LCB performing Arts Center Foundation, is offering "SCRIPTWRITING FOR BEGINNERS" from May 1, 6, 8,13,15 and 20, 2008. 10 AM to 12 Noon, at 48 Villamor Street, Davao City. We did begin the first session last May1.It's very informative and enjoying, with the very talented facilitator, Ms Josie Carballo Tejada lecturing! There seems to be no dull moment. She was doing her "act", animated and with "exagerated" gestures while lecturing, as if we were already watching a scene unfold before us! We will still be accepting on May 6, the last day of registration. Take this opportunity to learn scriptwriting. It is for everybody, teachers, professionals, students and those who wants to learn! Looking forward to the culmination of LCB Performing Arts Center Foundation's annual summer show case "HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2, the CONCERT". Its an adaptation of the said title. Recital will be on May 24, 2008, 7PM, at the CAP Grand Auditrorium. We will be doing only one show this year, because of the unavailability of the venue. So, we expect a full pack! Get your tickets early. You will miss a GOOD show! 
| | Something is cooking in VCF Davao every Friday, the Talents Night, where free dance lesson in hip hop is taught for FREE, and FREE sharing of GOD's Word! Amazing! Isnt it? I thought there is nothing FREE in this world !
There are free dance lesson for the youth, while the "young once" are also having their Bible study on the other side of the room, and some are into learning MORE in the "Biblical Foundation."
There are 4 small Bible study groups and 2 groups in dance lessons, the teens and the kids!

| | April 20, Pastor Alvin and spouse, Vicky, celebrates 17 years of God's centered marriage. Thank you, Gilbert and Julia, for being very thoughtful, to remember their wedding anniversary.
We received a call from Julia, Saturday night, to prepare some food stuff to surprise Pastor Alvin and Vicky for their anniversary.
This is one way of saying thank you to the couple, for being obedient to our Lord Jesus Christ, by leaving Manila and come to Davao to spread God's Word!
Thank you Psator Alvin and Vicky, You are a blessing to us, to our church and to the people of Davao! We pray that your marriage go stronger and may people who we engage will emulate your marriage life!

| | my little angel, chloe turn 9 months last April 20. She knows how to go with music now. She knows how to slip down from the bed to the floor; knows how to identify people; how to wink; close /open; align; wave goodbye; mimic; she loves food, specially cookies and fruits! She also has her favorite advertisement- any with KC; she also goes with us to VCF on Sunday. We want to start hre young!

| | VCF Davao, is really growing in discipleship! Many people are hungry to know God!
At the LCB Perfroming Arts Center, where Talents in Christ is house. Friday night is dedicated to God! Young peole are given free lessons in hiphop and God's Word is shared. On the the other dance studio, four groups of adult Bible studies and Biblical Foundation classes is on going. Others do 121 for new comers! And we are still growing!

| | Last Holy Week, our family for the first time went out for an excursion, . We went to Mati, Davao oriental! All of my siblings except me and my daughter, Yam Yam, did experience Mati. So all were very excited to see Mati!
Sometimes, we always want to 'go out of the country or go out of town!" But we sometimes neglected ourselves to look around our city and provinces. And I want to encourage everyone to expereince yourselves to go around the beautiful nature in your own place. You will discover how beautiful our city is!, especially Davao City! As it is said "We are never a hero in our own place!"
From the pictures, you wll see how scenic is Davao provinces!
We enjoyed the fresh "inexpensive" fish, the white sand, the wavy Dahican, the exclusivity of Wanaben Island, the beautiful sunset, and the colorful Golden Sunrise Beach Resort, where we were billeted!

Excerpt from SPIRITUAL LEADERSIP by J. Oswald Sanders
Can this be right? An angry leader? Indeed, Jesus had this quality and when we use it righthly, we follow Him. In Mark 3:5, Jesus looked "at them in anger."
Holy anger is the counterpart to Love. Both are part of the nature of God. Jesus' love for the man with the withered hand aroused His anger against those who would deny him healing. Jesus' love for God's house made Him angry at the sellers and buyers who had turned the temple into a "den of robbers." (Matthew 21:13)
Great helpers--people who turn the tide and change the direction of events--have been angry at injustice and abuse that dishonors God and enslaves the weak. Wilberfore moved heaven and earth to emancipate slaves in Englnad and eliminate the slave trade--and he was angry!
Martin Luther calimed that he "never did anything well until his wrath was excited, and then he could do anything well."
But holy anger is open to abuse. Many who feel it allow anger to become their downfall.
Bishop Butler teaches six conditions that make anger sinful:
* When, to favor a resentment or feud, we imagine an injury done to us.
* When an injury done to us becomes in our minds, greater than it really is.
* When, without real injury, we feel resentment on account of pain or inconvenience.
* When indignation rise too high, and overwhelms our ability to restrain.
* When we gratify resentments by causing pain or harm out of revenge.
* When we are so perplexed and angry at sin in our own lives that we readily project anger at the sin we find in others.
Paul argues for holy anger when he repeats the advice of Psalm 4:4: "In your anger do not sin." (Ephesians 4:26). This anger is not selfish and does not center on the pain you currently feel. To be free of sin such anger must be zealous for truth and purity, with the glory of God its chief objective.

This Sunday, people were surprise with the newly formed Adult band singing in the Tithes and Offering portion, and the Talents inC performing a dance number in the closing!

| | Victory Davao, a much innovated (with CSI Costumes) preaching by Pastor Alvin Supan, of the death of Jesus Christ, overwhelmed church goers for the last three (3) weeks, with the creativity of the newly formed "Creative Committee" headed by Pastor Tom, make the Sunday service alive and enjoyable! It was supported by the LCD prsentation of the related CSI music and background.
The CSI Series ended last Sunday with a "big bang," with the newly formed Adult Group band sang in the tithes and offering portion and the Talent inC doing dance number in the finale with the song "When I Praise the Lord!" ---these will be blog separately! Watch out for it! |
