for everyone

Broken marriage… Unresolved family problems…. Relational problems….Money matters, etc, etc…

Misconstrued….misconstrued…… this was the title I wrote in my personal journal last June 14, 2007. I was thinking of listing down all the “misconstrued” in my life and with the experiences I have encountered with the people I meet.

According to Mr. Webster-- Misconstrued means to misunderstand the meaning of.

Most of the problem in this world is because of misunderstanding. If people will just understand every situation we are encountering, then there will be lesser problems in this world!

Last Sunday, I was enlightened when our senior pastor was preaching the culminating series about    The Apostle’s Creed ---Seated at the Right Hand of the Father.

He shared… even sometimes we suffered misunderstanding in our life, …Jesus also suffered on the cross. Judas betrayed Him, Peter denied Him three times. The disciples fled from Him. Our Lord Jesus Christ was misunderstood. But the good news is that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father mediating, sympathizing and interceding for us.

The point of what we are saying is this: we do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the majesty in heaven, and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man.                                                                                                    Hebrew 8:1

He was accompanying us when we are experiencing suffering, unpleasantness, misunderstanding, and difficulties. He endures all kinds of temptation that is why He knows to intercede with us. And He wants to raise us up.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are---yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of  need .                         Hebrew 4:14-16

As we become Christians, we understand that in our deepest point of need, Jesus sympathized with us, He relates and understand us and He will help us overcome.

You can list down all the "misconstrueds" in your life, and think how God can lift you up. Nothing compares to the torture, humiliation, temptation and misunderstanding our Lord Jesus has endured.

For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might made atonement for the sins of his people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted .                                                                                                                        Hebrew 2:17-18
